  4.  Subscribe via email
Hi Guys,

All the normal messages come up in the correct language when people subscribe but I am getting some odd messages in English on the German site. Where do these messages come from? It comes up on my clients browser, I can't seem to recreate this behaviour.

"You are already subscribed to our newsletter." <- this has classes so I can style it no problem
"If you wish to change your subscription click here" <- no classes :(

I did see that the "default language" of the lists in CMC is set as "en" but I can't find anywhere to change this in the Component or even on Mailchimp.

Thanks for any help,
Ed

The validation message comes from your browser and not the component. So "please select one of these options" is from the browser and not the component.
The next one is comming from the component. The question is have you installed the german language pack for CMC and does it contain the translation for this string?

Daniel

Hi Daniel,
thanks, I'll override it with a css selector.

Regarding the language, it was the previous developers' fault. He set up a load of Form Overrides but never set the default language of the list. So I changed the German language to test, resynchronised, but I'm still getting an English message:

The language is set correctly now:

Could this be something to do with cache because it has been set as English all along?
Cheers,
Ed

Hey Ed,
You could style the messages with css by using :second attributes for the div :) But you could also do a template override of tmpl/signed.php and add your classes if you want to have one.

About the language -> that is interesting - it seems that mailchimp is not giving us the default_language info for the list so we fallback to the default value of EN.

I think that the language for the list is set when you go to edit the form in mailchimp and then on the translate it tab. Is it set there?

Daniel
