  4.  Subscribe via email
hi
as far as i understand it, we can add a sign-in checkbox to the joomla registration form so new users can choose whether or not to subscribe to a newsletter when they register. however, i don't believe it's possible to add the sign-in checkbox when the user logs in user one of the social buttons, like facebook, google+, etc.

i use the socialconnect joomla extension for users to login. is it possible to somehow include the cmc sign-in checkbox so users using these social buttons to login can choose whether or no they want to sign up to my newsletter?

thanks

regards

Hey Clive,
Here on compojoom we also use socialconnect. But when you click to create a new account you are being redirected to the standard joomla user manager.
This is how our login page looks:
https://compojoom.com/login
When you click on register now you are redirected to com_users and you'll see that we have a newsletter option there.

If you want to somehow force the user to select if they want to subscribe to the newsletter and then register through facebook - this is not possible. What you could do is - show them the newsletter module after the login. If they have an account the module could be already prefilled with their email and name so what is left is just to click subscribe.

Regards,
Daniel
Please if you use our extensions be so kind and review them at JED
