You need to create templates in mandrill, then you can select those templates in cmandrill:

Hi, Got mandrill working just fine with templates etc. eg when new user registers it delivers the email through mandrill.

HOWEVER, with the 'CMC component', it would seem i cannot use mandrill, but have to use traditional mailchimp? if that makes sense. In other words, I tried setting up mandrill for cmc component and did not work?

I am not a programmer but I try hard to work things out :)
btw thank you for a great components!

When I test newsletter signup (CMC component), there is no outbound activity in mandrillapp.com

hope you understand and can help with cmc problem

Im not sure how to solve this...Does your CMC component wont talk with mandrill. (there is lots of other outbound activity in mandrill but nothing for cmc component. Is it because its using mailchimp? if so how do i get it to use mandrill?

Hey Peter,
I think that you are not understanding something.

CMC uses directly the Mailchimp API - mailchimp sends the confirmation mails -> it is not CMC... CMC doesn't send any kind of e-mails, that is why it won't popup in the mandrill activity.

Cheers,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,
thank you for that. I did assume that I could control my newsletter function (CMC) and use the mandrill function & templates.

take care and thanks for the great components

you controll the mailchimp newsletter through mailchimp. CMC just subscribes users to your lists. Sending newsletter is controlled by Mailchimp and uses their server (so most probably they internally use mandrill)

Mandrill -> is used for emails that are sent by your site. (and you can use it with your mailchimp templates -> but you'll have some manual work - refer to the docs for more info)

Regards,
Daniel
