Resolved Tiles and joomla 3.2

Mandatory information about my setup:

Joomla! version: Joomla! 3.2.0 Stable [ Ember ] 6-November-2013 14:00 GMT
PHP version: 5.3.27
MySQL version: 5.5.33-31.1-log
Tiles version: 1.3.0

Description of my issue:


Hi Yves,
I installed Tiles on joomla 3.2.

with User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:25.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/25.0
I see pictures on the homepage but there is no animation and the images do not flow.
I tried Tiles with joomla 2.5.8 (http://www.gadareth.it/lateris2/) and it works.

with User Agent: IE 8.6001.18702
I don't see pictures on the homepage. There is no animation and the images are all black.

Please can you tell me why with joomla 3.2 I have these problems and animations do not work?
How do I fix it?

Hi Gadareth,

hmm there are JavaScript issues on the page (that has nothing to do with Tiles or Joomla 3.2) preventing tiles to work properly:

Error: TypeError: a is null

Hard to say what is causing this (maybe a broken plugin, module or the template itself). There are a lot of JavaScript libraries loaded on the page, starting with JQuery, Mootools and some others.

I uninstalled the 2 templates JSN not active but nothing has changed.
On the site now are installed only 2 components: Akeeba and Tiles, as you can see from the attached image.
The template is Beez3. The site is a fresh installation of joomla 3.2.

The javascripts that you see are probably included in the new Joomla 3.2.

I begin to think that it is a defect in joomla 3.2 just released.
Have you tried Tiles with joomla 3.2?

Sure we have, our own site is running Joomla 3.2 with Tiles (Startpage).

It definitely has to do something with your installation - just rechecked tiles on a local installation with Beez3 template - running without problems:

Just took a look again and tried to debug it - has something to do with the mobile menu header generation (at least that's what the stack trace tells, very nested, hard to debug..) - somewhere an element is null. (Not in Tiles)

Maybe the problem is that you don't have any main menu?!

I placed the main menu. Nothing has changed.
Thank you for your valuable suggestions and excellent support.
Now I will try with a fresh installation of joomla 3.2.

Resolved.
simply changing the template everything went perfectly.
I assume that the template beez3 on joomla 3.2 has some quirks.
What a disappointment ... collapsed a myth. :-)
