I just signed up for Mandrill, created the API key, copied it, installed CMandrill for Joomla, pasted the code (I also tried typing the code manually) into the options field and...all it says is "It seems that the api key you provided is incorrect. Please try again to copy the API key from mandrill!"
Any ideas? This is with a new Joomla 3.3.6 site.
