Are there any proposals to change the way the compnent handles a subscriber update? Current Mailchimp behaviour is that if you use the form code provded by MailChimp and someone tries to subscribe using an e-mail address that is already in the database they get "xxx is already subscribed to list yyy Click here to update your profile" if they click the link an e-mail is sent to them by MailChimp. Clicking on the link within the e-mail brings up the existing data for editing so that all the user needs to do is alter the field that needs amendment.
By contrast in MailChimp for Joomla there is no prompt. If the user faile to re-enter the data into a field then he gets "You were already subscribed to this list. Your settings have been updated. Thank you!" and the existing data is lost. I appreciate that strict logic dictates that if you leave a field blank you might expect exsisting data to be wiped but subscribers won't appreciate the nuance. The MailChimp way of doing it is much more user friendly.
