can you tell me did you try to resubscribe this email address using CMC subscription module or directly through the CMC backend?

Hi Igor - Many thanks for the reply. It was through the module on the live website.
It couldn't have anything to do with the GDRP https API email that MailChimp has been sending out to all account holders could? Does the API use https:// at the moment?

Hey Mike,

Under the hood we are using this library https://github.com/drewm/mailchimp-api to communicate with mailchimp. This api uses https for all requests so, we are perfectly fine with the new mailchimp changes.

As far the error goes - to me it sounds like - the user need to register with the module on the site, then he will get a confirmation emial and once he clicks on the link - he will be resubscribed.

you cannot manually add him on the mailchimp page as this would get you in trouble. Did you try to subscribe him with the module or with the mailchimp page?

Thanks for the confirmation regarding the API.

Just to clarify the problem I have encountered. Let's say it is my own email address and I used to be on a list in MailChimp. I went into MailChimp and removed deleted my email. I then went onto the module in the website to try and resubscribe, which is when I received the error. It won't allow my address to be resubscribed.

The main reason that is an issue, is because it is a mailing list for a large hotel and we had a good old clear out of addresses as part of GDPR. I am now concerned that should any of the people (email addresses) that we deleted choose to come back onto the mailing list they won't be able to do so via the website?

I don't know if that's an issue with the module/component or mailchimp itself?

@Mike - have you enabled the webhook. If you do, then the changes that you do in mailchimp directly should be automatically synchronized with the website.

Hi Daniel - Many thanks for the reply. I don't currently have webhooks enabled but I'm happy to do so. Out of interest do I just enter the homepage address of my client's website as the webhook URL?
