  4.  Subscribe via email
Hi there,
I am running a community site and we are sending out a newsletter to our community members. Now MailChimp makes the unsubscribe link mandatory. Since the groups are linked between MailChimp and my Joomla! website, the unsubscription from the newsletter will result in revoking the membership of the community.

Is it possible to "downgrade" someone's membership after he unsubscribes from the newsletter? So e.g. including newsletter you will be in a 'higher' user group and without the newsletter you will be in a 'lower' group, but still a member of the community. Or am I trying to do it the wrong way?

Thanx for anyone's help!

Thom

Hey Thom,
i'm not sure that I understand the question. The Only relation of the cmc users and the joomla users right now is that cmc is keeping the user id. This allows you to show a pre-filled form in the frontend for the user newsletter subscription.

But if a user is added / removed from a list this is in no way reflected in the joomla user group. You'll have to do such things manually.

Regards,
Daniel
Please if you use our extensions be so kind and review them at JED
