I have the free, core, version of ccomment. On the settings->layout tab "use names" is inactive and set to "no" as I would expect for the core version. However, when I make test comments Name is shown unless I quote another comment. The quotation shows User Name.

So it is inconsistent on name/user name being shown and does not match the core version abilities (user name shown) noted on your website.

I want to purchase a pro version but I'll need to be assured that when I select Name to be displayed pro ccomments will never never show a user name nor will a user name appear anywhere in the html etc. where a bot could find it.

Hi,
I just tested it on our demo page. When the setting is set to use the user's name. then quoting a registered user is qouting with his real name and not user name.

By "user name" I mean the name a user logs in with. By "name" I mean an alias which is hopefully not the same as User Name. For security reasons User Name, log in name, should never be shown or available on the front end. That means it is unwise to use the free version of CComment on a production site since it shows only User Name (except ... see bug report).

It seems that "real name" in your reply means Name (alias). I think you mean that the demo was set to show Name (alias) and then never displayed a User Name (log in name) even in quotations. That is encouraging. I see there is a 30 day refund period on purchases so I'll probably get the Pro CComments and check that it never reveals a User Name when set to display Name ... else refund. I'll also expect the recent comments, etc., modules to behave according to the Name/User Name setting.

This bug report is for Core CComment not Pro.
The comparison table on your site shows that core CComment does not have the option to show Name. I tried it and it does show Name except in quotes where User Name is shown.
