Resolved Comments do not show up under the article

I installed 6.0.6 core on joomla 3.9 running on a test environment in xampp with Apache/2.4.37 (Win32) OpenSSL/1.1.1a PHP/7.3.0 cache disabled.

I did a clean install. of the com and dutch language pack
Activated ccomments for two categories and for registered users.
Tested this and i can enter a comment, but when i press send the button store appears if i press that nothing happens.
When i then go to the backend i can see the message two times (for each button press). I can see it the status is published.
When i go back to the category (showing all articles in for that category) i can see that the article has two comments, but when i click on the article i see 0 comments.

When i edit the comment in the backend:
the content_id is the correct article_id
The parent id is -1 (no idea what this refers to)
the IP shows as ::1 (probably due to local setup, but changing to something real does not solve the issue)

Any idea what might be wrong?

Hi,

please check your browser console to see if there are some errors visible

Also, please set Error reporting to the Maximum level in the Joomla global configuration so you can see if there are some PHP errors visible on the article page when you hit comment submit

Hi,

In the console i indeed see an error as soon as I enter the comment box or press the new comment button.
Error is: TypeError: i.find(...)[0] is undefined

i refers to:
http://localhost/media/com_comment/cache/8e12eb270706cd6b2c8483104bf89b54.min.js:5:12212

which is this:

update.

I do not get an error on the console when i disable the system debugging.
So the error is more related to the enable debugging.
I do not get php errors which are logged by the way with the error reporting at maximum level

localfolder is missing (i manually made this directory to see if this was the cause (hence the result code 200. previously this was 404, so this is a small bug)

Hey Bert,
You have some PHP warnings in the ajax response. If you go to your joomla global config and set error reporting to none - it should work.

The problem is your php version 7.3. There are few things that are incompatible. And in your case this is the warning that is triggered

Continue Targeting Switch issues Warning ¶

continue statements targeting switch control flow structures will now generate a warning. In PHP such continue statements are equivalent to break, while they behave as continue 2 in other languages.

I'll have to look into our code to determine how we should handle this. For now this is just a warning and shouldn't change anything in the functionality of ccomment. Just disable warnings in the global config and you should be good to go.
