How can I avoid Mailchimp to send users email when adding a group of users? My users are already confirmed and signed up, now when I add a group under users it sends a email to all for them to sign up. How can this be avoided?

Thanks
Thomas

If you users are already signed and confirmed, why do you need to add them through the group feature? If they are already in your mailchimp list, just sync the list.
What am I missing here?
Please if you use our extensions be so kind and review them at JED

Hi thanks for the reply. I am currently using Acymailing and want to switch to Mailchimp, so there are no emails in Mailchimp. So I clicked the add a group and it started to send emails to my customers. I canceled it and 50 went over to Mailchimp. So that would be great if there is a way to get the users over to mailchimp without sending the email.

Thanks for the help

You can hack the code for this. I think that I've explained it somewhere.

But actually, if you already have the users in acymailing you could export them and then import them directly in mialchimp using the csv import for example. Acymailing is offering csv export, isn't it?

Regards,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,
Could you point out where you hacked the code? Importing and then syncing through MailChimp is not really an option for me, as MailChimp does not support a whole lot of fields that we use in our community website, e.g. member registration number, home address, postal code, city, etc. which I need to import into Joomla to support the community well. You'll understand that I cannot import these through MailChimp, so I'll have to import them into Joomla and then export the MailChimp relevant fields to MailChimp through CMC.

Thanx,

Thom
