You'll have to write the javascript for this and you'll have to hack the helper.php file.

The function that generates the list with comments is getComments from ModCommentsHelper
source/modules/mod_comments/helper.php

you could add an ajax method and call the getComments from it, then return a json of the comments and your javascript should replace the comments on the page with the returned json.

Unfortunately this is not a change that is just hacking few lines, so I can't give you more help with it.
