I just installed CMC on my dev Joomla / Jomsocial site.
Everything seems to be working just fine except everytime I register in Jomsocial and opt-in for the newsletter, I get 2 opt-in emails from Mailchimp.
I am running:
Joomla 3.3.6
Jomsocial 3.2.1.5

As you can see there are 2 calls for listSubscribe and the user received 2 confirmation emails.

Hey Justin,
do you still have the issue. I've updated the plugin to work with Jomsocial 4.0.8 yesterday and I couldn't confirm this issue.
