Uploaded files, added database tables, what now?

I have to install pretty much all my components manually, this one being no exception.
What i've done so far is upload the files into the right place, added the tables to my database and added the admin links to the components table.

however there's no comment links at frontend and the admin links go to blank pages. What have i missed?
