For the booking of our theatre plays, I plan to use Makutio.
Situation:
[ul]
[li]There are at least 3 plays with 10 dates each per year.[/li]
[li]Each play/title has several days it is played (=recurring)[/li]
[li]These dates do not take place on a simple interval (like daily, weekly etc)[/li]
[li]They are - most of the time Fr, Sa, So[/li]
[li]The first and last date of a play normally has a slightly different title (attached "Premiere"/"Derniere" to play name)[/li]
[li]The first date of each play tends to have less open seats than the rest (for the families of the actors)[/li]
[li]i want to automize as much of the article/event display/booking/linking as possible: Write article, create event and dates and link it to the article via some magic keyword/ui element selection - there should be no module creation/set up or coding required when posting new plays/dates, as the author does not necessarily have a technical background[/li]
[li]All dates of a given play should automatically (via module included in template) be listed/linked in an article for the given play. I need to use an article for the main description for archiving, since plays that are not being shown (=not bookable) anymore need to be moved to a publically visible/browsable archive.[/li]
[li][/li]
[/ul]
Problems / wishes
[ul]
[li]Currently, I don't see any way to customize the title[/li]
[li]Open Seats/number of participiant can not be modified on a per-date basis[/li]
[li]Makutio modules can only be filtered by category, I'd love to have more filter options, e.g based on a set of meta-keywords, or, even better, the modules should have an option that allows to filter for events which are linked (=new event configuration field) to the article the module is used in (if any).[/li]
[/ul]
This leads me to a rather ugly workaround:
I need to define each date that requires customization as a separate event, which effectively means i have to do a lot of (unecessary) copy/paste work.
This also makes displaying a single event (line) per module much more challenging. Currently, to realize what i described above, i'd need to do a lot of modding on core Matukio module files, down to the sql statements to link articles to events. My approach is to add the alias of the article as meta-keyword to the event(s) to be linked. For this i guess i have to extends the sql-statements used by the Makutio modules with another where clause
