Testing hotspots on a development site.

Currently, I have 9 categories. Some of the categories are critical. Some others are not as critical.

So, to not have so many hotspots on the maps and to make the most important hotspots easier to see I would like to limit the number of categories that are initially displayed.

The "number of categories" options seems to be the answer. But, it doesn't seem to do anything. I set the number to 3 categories but all of the categories are showing on the map.

Also, if this were working is the "category ordering" option supposed to determine which categories make the first cut? If so, none of the options seem to do what I want - can there be an "order" option that would look at the order of the categories in the category section of the back end? This way I could move the critical categories to the top of the list and the non-critical ones to the bottom.
