When constructing my email template, I tried adding the replacement tag for the total number of booked places. I used the Matukio Placeholders editor button and selected "Booked Places" which inserted the placeholder MAT_EVENT_BOOKED_PLACES. However, this then renders as Friday, 15. July 2016 - 09:00am_PLACES in my emails (event end time_PLACES).

On the documentation page on your website, the replacement placeholder for total number of booked places is MAT_BOOKING_NRBOOKED. I have updated my email with this tag and can confirm it works correctly.

It seems the editor button is not inserting a correctly formed placeholder for this value.
