Description of my issue:
Hello,
I'm now playing with Matukio for 10 days (not full time but almost) and I have opened several support tickets. I always got a fast and clear answer. I do really appreciate that.
But... I found several bugs, and as I am in my final validation week for the website, planned to go really online and used by the 1st of January 2015, I would like to summarize the state of my use of your product.
As I already explained, I have to manage different way of booking for my association.
After discussing and testing with my group, it appears that we will open multiple tickets booking for each user because Matukio doesn't allow specific booking rights for some users/groups.
In this approach, I set 2 options:
- in Basic tab of general settings (back-end), I set Multiple places to "NO", because I don't want that users can book for the same event at different moments (and so having multiple "your booking" button and booking's reference...)
- in in my specific event options (basic tab), I set the max participants per booking to 10.
With these settings, I expected that my users will be able to book a total of 10 places for a specific event on one booking session (being able to change it afterwards by editing this booking)
But what I've seen is that with Multiple places to "NO", the user can book only one type of ticket (e.g. Normal or Normal+Meal). Indeed the green Add button is not working (pushing it do nothing happen).
So I cannot book 5 normal Tickets and 5 tickets with meal option (set-up as a different fees).
If I set the Multiple places option to "YES", then I can add additional lines to book different types of tickets.
But by doing this, I allow the users to book tickets for the same event at different times, creating as much booking items (button, reference...) as booking session.
And even if I accepted to work like that:
- in the event detail view, the user can select the maximum quantity for each line. On our site, we have 4 different fees (Normal / Normal + meal / Normal + replica renting / Normal + meal + replica renting). So the user can potentially select 40 places instead of the maximum of 10 set-up above. In fact, the page is generating 40 "other detail" block for additional attendees. And because the booking page is accepting that and never alert the user, it looks like it works. The maximum has to be 10 for the addition of all type of tickets (this has been discussed in ticket #1943)
- These "other detail block" are not showing which kind of ticket is for who, so you cannot attach a user to a type of ticket, which is important to get the payment for these individuals, even if the booking was done grouped for them (this has been discussed in ticket #1950, point 4)
I'm aware that I'm certainly requesting some specific things, but implementing them with an open approach could add very interesting functions to other users and cleaner management of booking.
Thanks to have read this long ticket, hoping that you will have nice gifts for me for Christmas :-)
Season's Greetings,
Steve
