I am testing the core version on a test system. The email function in Joomla is disabled (so real users don't get test emails). I was playiong around with comment approvals and when I approve a comment I am getting a message indicating an email was successfully sent to the poster (it didn't though thankfully due to the email system being disabled).

So is this to be expected? Can I turn it off?
