TOPIC: no comments in articles at all

I just got your E-Mail.

So you are using the Wrapper menu item that's included with the core of Joomla, and you want a JoomlaComment plugin for the Wrapper component.

I just don't know how to do it

If Daniel doesn't reply to this thread soon I'll ask him if making a plugin for "Wrapper" will be easy to do then i'll take a crack at it.

it will be great if possible otherwise its not a big deal, my main issue was to just add comments in articles so my users can just comment on them .

I just tried to create a plugin for com_wrapper based off the sample plugin Daniel included with Beta 2, and also searched through the plugin section of the forum here for advice, but i'm not skilled enough in Joomla to understand what some things need to be

I'd like a wrapper for myself too, hence why i'm trying to do it. It'd be nice to allow users to comment on anything we embed from off-site

The sample plugin uses JPATH when it should be JPATH_SITE


Anyway, I can't figure it out at all it sucks. I added the plugin and fixed the errors I was getting, but I still get no Comment form.

I will ask Daniel to help me out next time I speak with him. Considering how simple the Wrapper component is, it doesn't even have database tables AFAIK, it would be the best way for me to start on creating plugins

(Not only am I completely new to Joomla development, but i'm not even a developer, and I only started using Joomla about 4 months ago...)

Wordpress is a good and very easy blogging CMS but Joomla is more powerful in my opinion.

What do you want to achieve?

P.S. You are speaking about the wrapper that allows you to show another page in your site?

just wondering if the comments can be added to wrapped stuff as you know joomla has an option to wrapp up stuff such as music videos etc... NOT articles!!

music and videos? hm, what? can you point me to some documentation, cause I only know the wrapper menu item that you can click on and select a webpage link that should be wrapped inside your site.

It should have no category and section option. And instead of looking at a table for the row Id you should check the url id and store it in the database.

But who needs to comment on a wrapper item. Ghali there must be a better way to achieve what you want. Since putting the things in a wrapper means for google that you doN#t provide the content and that is bad for you

I just saw your pm. Instead of putting this player in a single page and wrapping it. Try some joomla components about video and music

Well Ghali, I will tell you that I eventually hope to write the plugin as soon as I figure it out. I want it myself too! I didn't have any luck doing it within 1/2 an hour, and i'm a little busy but i'll see what I can do. Keep an eye on the Comojoom Blog every week or so.

I didnt want to open new post, so Im writing here. I just upgraded to new joomlacomment component for joomla 1.0.x and now I have problems with comments on content page.
No comments are displayd under content. I guess settings are correct.
Please see www.next-level.si and click Preberi več... (n) to view article with no comments displayed below it.
However, comments does work for eventlist.

you will have to select the IDS to be shown on the desired articles. otherwise there is an option to have them setup in all articles

Dont know what you mean by that. I want to display comments under all articles...

you need to go to setting and change:
Ids, Sections and Categories criteria
Exclude/Include : choose include

I already tried all possible combination of settings, no one works. My last configuration is attached, I believe that you wanted me to configure settings as showed...
