TOPIC: Write comment as one link line and not as full box

Hi folks, nice to meet you.

I just installed the JoomlaComment3-26 for Joomla 1.5.8 and I wonder how do I do to show up just a single line "write a comment" after and article isntead of showing up the full box to add a comment?
I mean, in the demo it shows just a line "Write comment (xx comments) >>". So, I want like it and not the comments and the form for posting comments showing in the same article page.

How do I do to make it? I didn't get to find any setting in the administration area. Am I missing something?

If you get the full box to write the comment then you have opened the article. You have to go to the categorie blog layout or start page layout to see the line "write comment".
Do you understand what I mean?

Did I open the article? Yes as an administrator I've created the article. Did you want to mean it? If I access the site from other computer withou being logged as adm or user, to Write a comment shows as the full box and not as a single line as shown in the Demo. I'm not sure if I've done in the right way. I mean, when I wrote the article, in the end of it I've added the code {joscommentenable}. Is it the right code to add in the article to show as single line or there is another code for single line?

Where do I find "Category Blog Layout" that you've mentioned? What do I need to do exactly over there?

Look here:
demo.compojoom.com/ - this is the start page. The start page shows a list with the last articles. And there you can also see the write comment button.

This here:

is the article page - you can see the article and all the comments.

What you need is a page from type - frontpage, blog layout and so on.

if the article is open you will have the form there. And in your case the article is open.

Make a new link to this article, but instead to make the button of type = article, use blog layout.

Should I use "Frontpage Blog Layout", "Category Blog Layout" or "Section Blog Layout"?

I've tried all them, but the ONLY problem is that I don't get to select the specified article (only one) that I want to show there. It is showing a link for several articles, and even I get rid of these links, it doesn't show the specific article as I get to set/pick when using "Article Layout".

Any tip how I would set just one article to show in the blog layout? Another different tip?

Well, yea. That is a problem. They show all the articles in a category. Perhaps you can make a new category only for this article?

I've just changing comment system on my site (JomComment to !JoomlaComment - cuz your mod latest comments is giving me more abillity to customization).

And I have some problem with layout. How to make visible count of comments posted in article in category blog layout? Cuz now it's only link to write comment without number of comments.

Well, it seems to me that your template use a background picture for read more. This background picture is too small for "write comments(numbre of comments) that is why you see only write, the other text is on the second line.
You should make the background picture for readmore bigger and this problem should disappear.

This is a serious problem. Creating a category just for a single article is not a good answer. You need to put this single line link in ARTICLE LAYOUT view. Or give the user a choice, like JomComment does. Please fix this soon. The comment form is much bigger than most articles and it is not necessary for most users. Great script, which I will love when it's fixed. TIA

Steven, what are you talking about? DId you want to start a new thread or what? Article layout view and single line link. I absolutly don't understand you. Please post some screenshots with explanation.

Hi Dan, in response to your email, I am talking about the subject of this thread. A single line at the end of the article linked to the comment box, and NOT the whole comment box displaying at the bottom of the article. I'm saying article layout view should be the same as you have it set up in blog and category views: just a single line at the bottom of the article, not a big form. At least give me a choice. Most users don't need the comment form, so to put that big form after every article is not necessary and a real distraction. I hope I explained it better this time. I like the way you've got the sliders set up but I'd really like a minimal link.

Okay, JomComment doesn't do that either. I was looking at it in blog view. The sliders is a good workaround but since this is the second request for this feature, please consider adding to future versions. Thanks.

Regardless, a new version was only recently released so this wouldn't be for a while at least.

Yep, you can style the template to look like the one of jomcomment. I don't think that it is such a problem at all.
