After answering this thread, we've figured out that it would be a good thing to put this information in the documentation. Now the documentation also includes answers to:
The JED Editor's pick is a special category on extensions.joomla.org . Today a news on joomla.org says that the JED team is trying to get the community involved. So go to this form and nominate your favorite extensions - I'm sure that compojoomComment will be on first place in your list, followed by hotspots :)
Believe it or not it was first yesterday that I realized how amazing compojoomComment is :) I had a look over the comments on the Joomla Magazine website and it made me realize, that the magazine was first published in July and till the end of September they had 318 comments. Now that is not bad, but I was amazed to see that after we installed compojoomComment for 9 days the website got 99 new comments :)
We've got a lot of e-mails asking how to vote for CompojoomComment and Hotspots on the joomla extension directory. Because it can be really confusing we wanted to make a small tutorial for this.
If you already have a registered account on the JED, you probably know how to do this already, in that case, just follow this link to review CompojoomComment or Hotspots directly.
Despite our best efforts, the software that we offer to you doesn't build itself :) So we are looking for smart people to help us improve our products and user experience. There is no doubt that we have one of the best Joomla products out there, but we want to go even further. The web is changing and we have to adapt to it and respond to our user demands.
Hotspots is a google map marker manager. A lot of people are still asking me: "What is this?". Well, if you are running a website for your city - you would most probably like to mark all the museums, restaurants, schools, etc on a map. That is what you can achieve with hotspots. :)
I'm sad to announce that our hacking competition is over. However I'm really happy to say that the latest compojoomComment 4.1.7 couldn't be cracked :)
I'm really proud to announce that Hotspots 1.0 beta1 was just uploaded to our download section. I see this release as an important milestone in the development of this component.
One of the most requested features just got implemented. You can find the plugin in the download area. Just install it as a normal community builder plugin.
I know that there are already people waiting for it - the new version of hotspots. We are really close to a new version, but we still need to fix few things to make your user experience better!
