TOPIC: CMC MailChimp user Group Email

Manual states that when syncing users from a joomla user group to mailchimp, " As the red text warns, however, these users will be sent a confirmation email before they're added to a MailChimp list." This is not acceptable. No one would want this to happen.

We need all users in a group to be synced without sending them the confirmation email. Is this possible?

Go to options, set double opt-in to false and then you should be able to import the users in mailchimp without a confirmation email. (you can try it on a dummy group first to be sure that it works as expected)

Worked great!

Mailchimp lists synced into Joomla. Joomla Groups synced to MailChimp. No confirmation email was sent.

And it is FREE!


1. When new joomla users are added to a group, will they auto sync to mailchimp, or do they need to be added before each mailing?

I did what you suggested in this topic: in options select no double opt-in, but:
1. The component says still that it will send an email to the users to confirm their subscription
However
2. Emails are not sent!
3. So I get no users in my list, only one manually added.
How can I solve this problem?

Hey Inge,

That should be the case. If you set the flag to not send emails, then we subscribe the users and pass the double opt-in value to mailchimp as false, so they should subscribe the user immediately. Do you get any kind of error when you do the sync?

Strangely enough I did now the same things as before to see exactly what messages I was receiving, and now my registered website-users were added in the component.... So it works! Now I can start trying to make and send a newsletter..... thanks again for your reply....
