Hi,

I have just installed Hotspots Core on Joomla 3.5.1 and I am getting the below error when I load the map page, and when I load the page to create a Hotspot. -

Oops! Something went wrong.
This page didn't load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details.

Any ideas why?

Many thanks in advance...

Glenn

Hey Glenn,
Did you provide an API key? If yes, make sure that the API key is allowed to be used on the site where you do the test.

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

I have provided an api key and I do have the site setup for use with this key, I set it up especially for this purpose.

The page is located here - sdmxc.net/mapping/

Any other ideas why this would not be working?

Cheers,

Glenn

Hi Daniel,

I'm afraid I still have not got this working! I have uninstalled my instance of Joomla and re-installed, but this did not help. I have ensured that I have the correct api key set in the configurations in "Map > Api key". I have also ensured that I have my domain allowed for this key, see attached screenshot, the domain is sdmxc.net

On your plugin page it states that "Based on the latest Google Maps API v3 - it's fast - no API keys are required!", is this correct?

Any help on this would be very much appreciated?

Glenn

Hi Daniel,

Is this something that you can advise on? Your features of this plugin state that no api key is required, but even when I have entered a key it's still not working for me. I am looking at this module for a potential project that will require the professional version of the plugin, however I need to be able to provide a working sample to the prospective client first.

I know we looked at this in the past but this never went anywhere as the costs to implement (Google) in a private network were too expensive. This requirement is for a different setup.

If you have ceased support for this plugin please advise and I will then look into an alternative solution.

Many thanks in advance,

Glenn

Hey Glenn,
google has changed their requirements on the 22nd of June 2016. For new sites the API key is required:
googlegeodevelopers.blogspot.de/2016/06/...dates-to-google.html

You need to provide your api key, make sure that you also allow this api key for your site. Once you do this, the map should work.

Regards,
Daniel

I have done all this but I'm afraid it still doesn't work Daniel!

I will send Google a message and see if they can help.

Thanks,

Glenn
