I have looked for documentation using a scanner with Matukio at an event but can not locate.
1. how do i use the order generated qr code at the event to check in a participant?
2. what hardware and what software do I need or can i use?
3. do i connect to Matukio software over wireless to update the participant is here now? or is there an import/export process of data?
4. can i add a new participant at the event door?
5. what about changing event details for a registered participant at the door? for example, during event registration they choose a red badge, now they want a blue badge
6. can i create and add 'hidden' fields' in the ordering on the website?
thanks.

Hi Duane,

take a look at the new documentation (work in progress), there is a chapter about it:

www.gitbook.com/book/yvesh/matukio-event...k-in_participants.md

4.) Hm as long as you have a laptop / access to Matukio. You can always create bookings as admin / organizer.

5.) Same

6. Hmm, can you explain a bit more what you try to achieve with them? :-)

Kind regards,
Yves

Thanks for answering.
Regarding number 6. I need to pass along accounting data in a export of each events, preferably a csv of the event.
The data in the field will have a default value like 1111 all numbers. Then in the admin section that field needs to show for the admin who may need to have the data be 2222 as an example prior to export. Upfront the data field should be radio or dropdown with a default value of 1111.
Of course we do not want the user to see this field but it will need to be part of each event order placed. So it needs to be a hidden field in the order placed.
I will look to the document you mentioned.

I have looked over the documentation. Actually the public read is at yvesh.gitbooks.io/matukio-events-for-joo...in_participants.html Thanks. However, I still am not clear as to the exact method to connect my phone to check in the user. I understand they are on the same network, the phone needs to be logged into the site as admin, the component needs to be open (?) on the phone. So how does the bar code or QR code know to check in the specific user by scanning the code. The code is a reference url, right? By scanning the code the phone browser opens. By scanning the code, which is in fact a link to a specific link in Matukio. Matukio knows when an admin user opens this link it means the user is checking in. Something like that, right?
