How can I make changes on the "submission location" form?
I will like to have a smaller text box and remove the "insert module" button.

You can use a template override to change the form: docs.joomla.org/How_to_override_the_outp...rom_the_Joomla!_core
The form for the frontend is generated in components/com_hotspots/views/form/tmp/default.php
