I have access to comments restricted to registered users. When I log in as super user, I get message that I am not authorized to enter comments. Don't understand this.

You have to select all user groups that are allowed to post. SElecting just registered means that users that have the "registered" user group are allowed to comment, but not all nested sub groups have that access.
In your case you would have to select super users as well.
