TOPIC: Repeated events hogging the Upcoming Events module

There are events that are for a single day, some repeated every week, and some that cover a span of time, say from October 20-November 15. For some reason, as you can see in the attached image, one of the daily repeated events is hogging the events shown in the sidebar of my website, not allowing any of the one-off events to be displayed in this module. How can this be prevented? You can see what I'm talking about at this link:

Hi Pat,

not sure if i can follow you 100%. The module shows the next dates, regardless if they are repeated daily or not, just the next upcoming ones (begin) - would you like to show daily repeating events only once?

I've come up with a solution... I set the date span in the short description, but show the event only once a week. I think this is sufficient. Did you have something else in mind?

Hmm, with Matukio 5.3 we are going to support split dates - maybe this will help. E.g. one event / date can have multiple dates etc. But in your case it's a bit more complicated, what you would need is a module that displays repeating / recurring events only once per week and not every day?

That would be great to have a choice as to how often an event is blasted on the website. I would still post it on the calendar, but not in any events log.
