Hi,
I am planing a new site specialized on sport locations.
Hotspots seems to fit in most of my needs but I would like to ask about few things I am not sure of.
The plan is to categorize the sports (e.g. Windsurfing – Climbing – Offroad)
Each sport must have some characteristics (e.g. level – best season – school - facilities)
Then the visitor can choose to show only the locations within the chosen characteristics.
1. Is that possible? Of cource there will be extra locations around the spotted area like restaurants, gas stations etc.
2. Is it possible to apply a spot in multiple categories?
3. Is there a rating system? If yes, can that be a searchable field?
4. Can comments be moderated?
5. Is there a Back to the map button after detail view of a location?
6. After choosing a spot is it possible to show a small detailed map of the area?
7. Where does the weather layer come from, can I choose a specialized site for each sport, like windguru for windsurfers?
8. If there are many markers on a spot can I show a number?
Hotspots is a great extension, well done!! I really hope that it will fulfill the needs of the specific project.

Hey Villy,

1. You can have custom fields but you cannot search on them. They only display when you are in single view right now. I have plans on adding them as filter criteria and showing them in the list, but it will take a while.
2. No. There is a plan to add joomla tags support instead of this.
3. No, rating system.
4. Comments are made with ccomment and they can be moderated
5. The back button is standard part of a browser. So I don't see why we should replicate this behavior... (we had it in the past, but I've removed it)
6. No, the detailed map comes in single view
7. The weather layer comes from google. But it will be deprecated in June and I'll have to unfortunately remove it :(
8. No

Hope that this answers your questions. If you have any additional one, then just shoot them :)

Regards,
Daniel
