Hello Team Compojoom, although we have yet to purchase the CCommenting Pro, we are impressed with the functionality it seems to offer and have looked ta your demo as well. With that sad, we are using Joomla with JomSocial and have a few questions we hope you might please help us with to better understand CComment Pro:

1. Do we assume (which we don't like to do :), that CCOmment Pro acts as a module/plugin and appends the article with user comments?

2. Does it work with our ACL/rols so that we may limit commenting based on roles/subscription levels, etc.

3. More, importantly, does CComment Pro integrate with JomSocial...we want to ensure comments appear on our members walls. So, does CComent Pro push comments to JomSocial, or is their integration work we will need to do?

Thanks for your time and look forward to hearing from you. Best, Todd

Hey Todd,
You'll be even more impressed when you purchase it. (btw there is a core version that you can test, it doesn't come with the JOmsocial integration though(this one is only available in the pro version)

1. Yes, the comment system is triggered by a content plugin and adds the comments after the article. In our documentation you can see all components that we integrate with & you have instructions on the steps necessary for each integration.

2. Well, it depends what you exactly want. You can determine who is able to post and who is able to be a moderator (based on a user group). You can see those settings in the core version under the settings tab in the configuration for com_content.

3. Yes, it integrates. When the user posts a comment, the comment is posted to the jomsocial feed, you can also have the option to assign points for commenting, voting.

Cheers,
Daniel

Sounds great Daniel, like the confidence :) Honestly, we were pretty surprised after purchasing JomSocial that it has "little-to-no" integration with Joomla! I mean hello ...one might say "way to not support and leverage your own base to grow your business"., but I guess this creates opportunity for companies such as Compojoom :) So downloaded and installed the free Core version of CComment...easy enough, pretty straight forward. Found the settings that allows admin to limit commenting to certain groups. FYI, we may have multiple subscription groups allowed to comment, saw you already thought of this as it allows us to select multiple groups in the group selection box. With that said, have a couple items that I hope you can help with, these are not urgent as I understand you may have more pressing issues to address...but if you could comment when you have time.

1. The user profile image doesn't appear to pull from Joomla, as we modified it on our end and it doesn't propagate. Is this a setting issue when using with Joomla? Again, we have deployed Jomsocial and will be using K2, so is it ok to assume this will be a "none issue" in CCOmment Pro as it says it supports JomSocial profile and K2?

2. The size of CComments seems small and difficult to see that the dislike points down. If we go to Pro version, do we have the ability to modify the like/dislike buttons. Ideally, we would like to swap them with JomSocial buttons so have same look/feel for users (understanding that JomSocial doesn't appear to have a "dislike" button...but we might utilize the "unlike".

3. Ability to change a users vote once placed.. So if a user accidentally selects "Dislike", down..and realizes they meant "LIke" up...it doesn't appear to allow user to change their vote..is this a security setting we are missing?

4. The CCOmment Core commenting tools for links/images/etc. show code (HTML) format. Is their a way to turn this off as most users are non-technical and will think they are seeing a foreign language :)

5. With CComents Jomsocial Integration, which database (system) the comments stored in?... would think BOTH CComment and JomsSocial, please confirm?

Again, appreciate the work you have done and look forward to hearing from you on these issues that are minor, yet important for usability.
Kind Regards, Todd

1. The pro version can pull the avatar from Jomsocial or K2. You can also link to Jomsocial or K2. the options are on the integration tab (only available in the pro version and you can select either k2 or jomsocial, but not both. However you can pull the avatar from Jomsocial and link to the K2 profile or you can have it the other way around)

2. Even with the pro version. Check the docs about the template system -> you can modify the template, make your own and do whatever you want with css.

3. NO, that is not possible.

4. Well, just disable bbcode in the settings. Any links pasted are automatically converted to links and youtube videos are shown with the video player.

5. The comment is saved in the ccomment tables. We create an entry in Jomsocial's activity table in order to show you the activity in the activity stream of jomsocial.

Regards,
Daneil
