TOPIC: email notification

I know that this topic has been dealt with before, but not in a way that it has helped me. When a user has "Notify me of followup comments via e-mail" checked, they still do not get the notify emails. Is this not enabled for the Core version?

If you haven't configured a cron job, then someone needs to refresh the article page in order for the mails to be sent.
If you are testing this - make sure that you are testing with accounts that are moderators. If you post as moderator -> you won't receive a notification, because you were the one who posted the comment. Test it with 2 different accounts.

If you still don't receive emails, then look at the e-mail queue. Log-in into phpmyadmin and navigate to #__comment_queue table - is it populated with messages?

Daniel, the cron job works and I do get moderation messages just fine. I am asking about user notification messages, and I did already test it with two non-moderator accounts. The user notification checkbox is visual and checked by the user. The first poster does not get a message that a reply to his post was posted by the sevond poster.

I am not sure where to look for the email queue. In my host cpanel I can open phmmyadmin, but I don't see anything there about a queue. As admin I do get emails from Joomla when a new user registers, so that comes from my system, not from ccomment.

So I am still befuddled!

Sorry to keep harping, but this has not been resolved yet. This is the problem:

When a user posts a comment with the checkbox "notify me of followup comments via email" checked, and another user posts a reply, the original poster does NOT get notified. Everything else works. In "manage comments" the messages show up fine with red or green notify icons as appropriate. The moderator does get the moderation request via email through the cron job.

Note, the second poster uses "reply", not a new post for the same article.

SOLVED. Thanks Daniel. I was publishing by clicking on the direct publish link on the below message. That does publish the comment but it does not send out an email message. That was not at all clear from any documentation. Publishing from the comment management panel does generate the email message.
