I've been using CComments for a long time now but I'm curious about the major differences between the free version and the pro version. Might I suggest having a page dedicated to showing the comparisons. This would encourage folks into getting the pro version.

Hey Josh,
I just compiled this list:
compojoom.com/joomla-extensions/ccomment...ccomment-core-vs-pro

What do you think? Does it show the differences clear enough? Do you think that I've missed something?

Thanks,
Daniel

Looks great! It does clearly give one an idea of the differences between the two. :) Another curious question of mine is "can one upgrade from the free version to the pro version?". I know the free version is in beta stage, but something to be mindful for in the future.

Of course you can update :)

What is more problematic is the downgrade (PRO to core)...

Will folks be able to upgrade from version 4 to 5? I figure a backup is advised.

Josh, folks are able to upgrade even now.
The steps for the update are also described in the documentation:

Shonn, this error is in a file that is not distributed by us and has nothing to do with the component.

But this is your component that i was upgrading which produced the white screen which could cause many to walk away. You should in my opinion be quite happy to learn as many issues that could go wrong with a typical joomla user upgrades as i did. If it happened to me, its happening to others.
