TOPIC: Search a certain area

Hi there,

I was wondering whether it is possible to add an option in our search-module.
If you are searching on a certain zip-code, that you can click the option to enlarge the search result.
So, if there are no results on a certain city, then it will be possible to give the results of a city nearby.

Are you talking about the location search or area search?

I guess both?

When you a have list of hostspots (option 'hotspots', after 'route') and you type a city, maybe there can be search in an area of 20 km around that city?

With the search for location it's a little different. If the city is not in your current map view, the map will move to that location. The move would trigger an ajax request to fetch the locations in the map view.

In the past for hotspot search I had a script that would search the current view and if nothing is found it will search within a 100mile radius for location matching the pattern. If it still doesn't find anything it will search the whole earth for locations. I'll add this code back in 5.2

For the moment, I still get no results on a certain area. It would be great if I could get results outside of the searched city. within a certain radius, as explained.
