I've checked this forum for the many occurances of this Google Maps annoyance, but none of the reported reasons seem to apply here:
- Hotspots 5.3.3 installed freshly on Joomla! 3.6.5 (de)
- new Google Maps API key created and entered into Hotspots configuration
- double checked, that the key has not been altered during copy and paste
Even on the backend (Hotspots dashboard and locations screens) Google Maps doesn't appear, but only its aforementioned error message shows up.
Since JQuery cannot be blamed on the backend - what else could possibly cause this problem?

Is this only in the backend or in the frontend as well?
Can you give us a link to the page where you get that. The reason for that "Ooops, something went wrong" should be written in the javascript console.

Regards,
Daniel

It's on the frontend, too. The site is not live yet. I'll added a user "support" with admin rights. You may wish to ask for the password in a mail to "This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.". Then log in to www.steuerkanzlei-vordermaier.de and choose your own password.
And no, there is no error reported at the JS console.

It shouldn't be an error, but an explanation to why you are seeing "oops..." - this is from google. You get a link to a page with explanation what you have to do.

Send the access credentials to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and I'll have a look.
