Hello, how can i accomplish that my list sync makes identical copies both in joomla and mailchimp.

The current situation is like this. I have a sign up module on my site. When a user is registered CMC does receive the registration. My mailchimp is correcty connected with my joomla. When i do the sync between lists, the joomla list receives the names from mailchimp and removes all other that are not in the list in mailchimp.

So to sum things up.
The registration is received in CMC and ends there, if i sync, the list in the Mailchimp is the main one which overwrites the names in CMC.

How can i get that the user registration is written directly in Mailchimp?

If that is not possible, how can i achieve that when i use syncronization the names from CMC get aded to the Mailchimp list and not the other way around or that all the names which are not in mailchimp get erased. The list in my CMC and Mailchimp are simply not identical and i want them to be.

So far the only way i was doing is manualy copying the names from CMC to Mailchimp by using export CSV and importing it to Mailchimp.

Hey Luka,
I'm not sure that I understand the problem? What CMC not doing correctly? The names and emails should end up in Mailchimp.

Hi. They don't. When I initiate sync, he pulls the emails from mailchimp, and deletes everyone in the joomla cmc list.

Lets say i have 5 names in cmc joomla. And i have a list in mailchimp with 2 names.

Then i do the list syncronization.

The 3 names in cmc joomla get replaced with the 2 names in mailchimp, and mailchimp list remains unchanged.

Is that supposed to happen?

I want the names from cmc joomla to be sent to mailchimp and added to all the other names.

That might happen and it is nothing dramatic.
The thing is - mailchimp is actually the master db.
When a user registers to your list, we add it to the joomla db (with a status of not-confirmed, or something of that sort) and send the user to mailchimp. Mailchimp is then sending a confirmation mail. First when the user clicks the confirmation link, then it will be added to mailchimp.

That's why it is actually important to have your webhooks url set up. This way when the user confirms his subscription, mailchimp will notify your site about this and the status in your db will change.

Does this make sense now?

Regards,
Daniel

Yes it makes sense now.
So everything is working ok, it is just necessary for the user to confirm sub via email so the name would appear in the mailchimp also?
