Hi
Do I need to pay to be able to see answers to other threads in this forum? Every time i click on a thread it says I dont have permission to access it?
I am logged in with the user account I just created.

With CMC SYNCHING Ive added the webhook to mailchimp and I just tried changing email address via the jom social front end and that added a new email to mailchim pbut didnt remove the old one? SO I tried via backend joomla admin and same happened
So now I have 3 versions of the same user on mailchimp each with a different email address..... have I missed soemthing in the set up

If've just been looking at Joomailer website and on there he says that when a user changes email address on joomla then the NEW email address is added to mailchimp but the old one is not removed..... so is that just the way it has to be i guess?

Also I just changed an email address on Mailchimp, then ran the list synch in CMC and can see it updated that but it hasnt updated the email address in the joomla user profile?

please advise

What threads are not accessible?

Joomailer is a different extension.

CMC is currently not able to update the newsletter subscription. So if your user changes his email on the joomla site -> this won't be reflected in his newsletter subscription. On the other hand if he changes it in mailchimp, it will be reflected in your joomla site.
The joomla account will still keep the old e-mail - the updated e-mail will be in the cmc user tables.

regards,
Daniel

Hi Daniel

Yes when I click on threads in this CMC category I can only see some, for example if i try and go to this one below I see an Access Denied message
compojoom.com/forum/cmc-mailchimp-for-jo...label-not-displaying

Yes I know Joomailer is a different extension but I was mentioning it because it also doesn't update emails on mailchimp via the sycn so was just wondering if that was not possible on the API and hence why neither plugin does this.

OK so the synch will basically add a new email address to mailchimp if user changes it in joomla but leaves old one, ok thats fine

and it wont change any joomla email addresses either when changed in mailchimp but not really sure of the benefit of having it updat ein the local CMC user table if it doesnt synch with joomla?

Anyway thanks at least we can subscibe people during the regsitration but would be great if you could get it to also grab the persons name from joomla/jom social :)

Thanks for notifying me about the forum issue. On sunday we got into trouble with our hosting. On monday we had to restore from a backup. The restauration went fine, but it turns out that it was missing nearly all forum entries - 22k! And that is why the forum says - "no access". The message actually had to be -> the post content is actually missing...
Anyway - we restored the table and now the forum should be ok.

The reason why we don't update the user email in the newsletter list is simple. I don't think that a lot of people are changing the email that they have registered with on a website. Second people can register using the module - when they do so - they can enter whatever address they like and they won't be linked to any joomla profile. In the backend of CMC you are actually able to modify the records in mailchimp. That is there for simplicity and also we have few ideas that need that data. In the future we'll do way more with the users.

Regards,
Daniel

P.S. Joomla/jomsocial plugins - yea it would be cool if we could match the fields..
