Is it possible to force commentors to give their email in order to comment? I tried adding a custom field, but it doesn't force them to leave an email (they can leave any text in the field they want) and also it doesn't appear in the backend.

How can I make someone leave an email address in order to comment without loggin in?

Thanks

-Matt

What happens if you set the "email to be required" in the template settings?

Daniel that was perfect. I never saw that. Thank you

One quick question now, is there a way to export the email addresses? I only see them in the edit comment section of the admin panel.

Thanks again. That was too easy!

That's not that easy. The problem is that for non-registered users the emails are stored in the #__commment table, but for registered users we just have a relation to the users table and we get the email from there.

The only way to currently export the emails would be with a custom sql query that you would have to run directly on the SQL server.

Daniel
