Hello,

When any user submits a new comment, the moderators are not notified by email.

1)Component -> Settings -> Security -> The 'Notify Moderators' is set to YES
2)The moderators Group is also selected
3)There are several users assigned to the selected moderators group however none of them receive any email notification
4) The CComent plugin is enabled
5) Sending any other emails from the Site works fine (i.e. contact form etc).

What's wrong? Am I missing something? Or is this a bug?

Have you read this:
compojoom.com/support/documentation/ccomment/ch03#idp86464

Also when you log into the db with phpmyadmin and go to #__comment_queue -> do you see entries with the mails that need to be sent?

Regards,
Daniel

Many thx for your help and prompt reply.

Hi again,

After testings it seems that the Component sends out an email to the Moderators ONLY when selecting the 'REGISTERED' users from the 'MODERATOR GROUP' under the Security Tab.

However, when selecting any other 'groups' (with the 'Registered' group deselected) then the Moderators are NOT notified.

Furthermore, there is NO queue in the PHPMyadmin when other Moderator Groups are selected.

In a few words, only the "Registered" Moderator Group works.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? :)

Hello Daniel,

I have the same issue here.

I'm on version Core git_242af68.

When I post a message, no notifications are sent. Other mails (contact form) get sent from the system.

These are my settings:

In the DB table #__comment_queue I do not see the new entries for my new test comments.
Only 80 old entries from last month when I tested.

Please help. Thank you.

Hey guys,
I'm about to release 5.0 stable. I tried to reproduce the problem, but on my test machine the emails were added to the queue. So if you want me to have a look at the problem on your sites, please send me access credentials to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Cheers,

Hello Daniel,

thank you for taking care.

Do you already have a release date?

If it is not too far into the future, I will wait for 5.0 stable and install that. If problem still persists then, I will let you know.

Cheers
gerhard

Meanwhile my client is administrating comments from the backend.

Hey guys! I think that I nailed it. The email notifications were not working when autopublish was set to no. Then moderators were not being notified about the new comments. The following release should fix this:
compojoom.com/downloads/developer-releas...-ccomment/gitb760492

Regards,
Daniel

Hello Daniel,

I am using ccomment on a production site and need the notify moderators fix in a stable version.

Do you have a release date for the next stable version where this fix will be included?

Thank you
Gerhard

Hey Gerhard,
Just install the dev. version - it is the same 5.0 release + all the bug fixes - there is nothing that should brake your installation.

Daniel

Hello Daniel,

thank you for the reply.

I just got a little nervous when reading the Warning on the download page.

At the moment I am using the dev version git_242af68 on the production site. Haven't updated to 5.0 stable yet.

Guess, I can just install the latest bugfix release over my old dev release, right?

The warning is there so that people won't go installing the dev. releases instead of the stable one, unless specifically instructed to do so by the developers :)

You can update yes :)
Cheers,
Daniel

Hey Tano,
Download the latest dev. release for ccomment and it should be fine after that.

Daniel

Yes I did,

If I create a post and hit send no email comes through.
But If I manually hit refresh the email comes through.

If I go to the mysite.com/index.php?option=com_comment&...&format=raw&total=10

This works fine.

I want it to automatically send an email once a post is made.

How can I make the page refresh automatically?
Im an ASP developer and not sure where I can put some custom code to do a response.redirct or equivilant in php.

Don't refresh the page please! Just create a cronjob to send the comments. You can set the time to 1 per minute and this should be pretty much enough.

Daniel
