TOPIC: translations special characters

This product is not so bad. I have importet fr. a german WP into a german Joomla database.
Now I have to change all the special characters in all posts. In German we have A, Ä, ä s, S, ß. And some additional "spaces" which have to be set to have a better block-format are now AA.
This is also in the usernames.
It would be a good service for other languages. Thanks

I think that the problem is coming from the wordpress database. My guess is that your wordpress tables are not encoded with utf8 and that is why german chars are not displayed properly in joomla.

I can assure you that we can handle properly international characters provided that the source database is correct. (imported already a lot of german sites, even sites with Cyrillic and Chinese characters)

Wordpress is correct coded in UTF-8. We have no special widgets or plugins, a minimum.

For us it is a minor problem to correct the special chars, work of 30 minutes.

emailaddresses as article - interesting table. Not interesting anymore as we delete these files and go ahead to finsh now the migration task with ease
