It would be interesting to say that current joomla content is totally deleted if you muse it. I tried to install a full wp site inside a joomla categoy but it didn't say that all the previous content was erased.

It would be interesting to say, isn't it?

Hey Fhorma,
I'm sorry to hear that(and I hope that you have a backup), but please -> when you add the settings -> on the right you have the text saying that the content will be deleted.

When you click the migrate button you get a message telling you that the content will be deleted and asking you to explicitly click yes if you understand what the message means.

In the documentation it is written that the content will be deleted.

I have no idea how to make it more clear that (put a big danger sign somewhere???) -> the content will be deleted if you have selected that option...

Kind regards,
Daniel

Hello... that's not very clear:

This is the message on the right:

The Wordpress db tables that you try to import from need to be in the same database as the joomla tables! Otherwise the import is not going to work!

When you import the categories from Wordpress we will keep the same category-> child relationship that they had. The post from Wordpress will be also associated with the same category as in Wordpress.
In Wordpress you are able to assign several categories to one post. Joomla articles can have just one category, that is why when we import the post from Wordpress we just take the first assigned Wordpress category.
You can use \Clean migration\ option to delete all of your previous data from your database. This function will delete all of your old articles*, categories*, users* and tags*!
* Depends on your migration selection. For an example, if you don't select categories for migration, categories won't be deleted.

I didn't have any option not to delete the current data. What it says is not exactly that ALL THE CONTENT WILL BE DELETED.

so, the question is: I now have another blog I want to insert into a bigger joomla site. I don't want again the same to happen... is it possible to migrate to a category without erasing current content?

Hi Fhorma

Text from your right tells you that if "Clean Migration" is checked you will lose all of your data. Since version 0.4 we added this option to select do you want to keep your existing data. So, if you want to save all categories, users, content, tags and comments you should uncheck "Clean migration" option.
My advise is to download latest version of CMigrator (0.5 version) and first try to do migration on your localhost and then after, create backup and do live migration.

If you want more info before you start migration, you should read this:
CMigrator user guide

Kind Regards,
Petar
