You are not supposed to isntall this plugin through the joomla plugin system. You should unzip the plugin and upload it to administrator/components/com_comment/plugin

maybe I am missing something here.
I just watched the tutotial and there is a content-plugin and a system-plugin for Joomcomment.
(system is for cache management, content is for adding the commentlink into the article).
where are those plugins to be downloaded?

They come with the package. Why do you need this plugins? This plugins go autmatically there, because they are needed for the standard content plugin (so that you can comment on articles without having to edit some files)

and mmsblog plugin is a plugin that allow us to comment on mmsblog entries, but you have to install the plugin where I pointed you and then also make some changes to the files of mmsblog.

o, I see. It is one of those install-all-in-one you -never-know-what-youre-gonna-get packages.
I see the plugin is installed and enabled. I just don't see anything at the frontend.

carsten, backup a little bit!
So why did you try to install the mmsblog plugin?

Is joomlacomment at all working for content items?

No it's not a "never know what you're gonna get" package, it's a Commenting extension for a CMS called Joomla. You can easily see 'what you're gonna get' if you open up the ZIP file and investigate before blindly clicking OK/Install/Go at every prompt...

...the Install Instructions cover everything you need to know to install JoomlaComment and get started. It's no different to other Joomla extensions - make sur your permissions are correct and your server meets the minimum requirements.

you -never-know-what-youre-gonna-get packages

I'm sorry. I take that back. That sounded far too harsh. You guys made a wonderfull extension. I was under the impression I was installing a component but it installed a component and 2 plugins.

You can easily see 'what you're gonna get' if you open up the ZIP file and investigate before blindly clicking OK

I unzipped the pachage and it looks to me like a component. Only when you open install.comment.php you can see that it is installing more then one component.

So why did you try to install the mmsblog plugin?

Because I looked at the tut and thought I needed to install the plugin. So I went to you download area and looked for the plugin. That seemed to be the only plugin for 1.5. So I downloaded it and tried to install it.

Is joomlacomment at all working for content items?

no. No output at the frontend at all. I tried various plugin events, including the original.
