Am attempting to install the joomlacomment component using the standard Joomla 1.5 extension Install function. The package I downloaded from your site ( compojoom.com/download/cat_view/56-jooml...mment-component.html ) says to unzip it first. I attempted to upload the zipped file (as that is how all other extensions are installed) but it couldn't find an XML file. So I unzipped it and there is nothing else zipped inside of the folder. So I'm at a loss as to how/where I am to install this component. There are so many folders and files that I would rather not attempt a manual installation.
What am I missing? Any suggestions?

Hey Karen,
Sorry for the delay.
What do you mean with there is nothing zipped inside the folder???
When you unzip the file first - you have a readme file and joomlacomment4.0.0beta1.zip file.

Just install the joomlacomment4.0.0beta1.zip file.

Thanks. Still not working. This time it's not immediately giving me an error that it couldn't find the XML file, but it's been loading for about 30 minutes and still hasn't installed. When I tried about an hour ago, I stopped it after 15 min, and it appeared to have loaded some of the files, as it showed up in my Components menu in the backend. However, when I clicked on any of the menu items in JoomlaComment, it gave me an error. [Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in /home/.../administrator/components/com_comment/toolbar.comment.html.php on line 29] So I uninstalled it and am back to trying to load it.
I have another site designed in Joomla besides this one, so I'm not a complete newbie.... I've never had anything take this long. I'm using Firefox, BTW. Other components are installing fine, so I don't think it's a server or permission issue.

Never mind - just figured out what the problem probably is. My host is running PHP4 and I just read that you need PHP5 for your extension to work.
Thanks
