I've been going thru this forum trying to find an answer but have yet to see a solution in print even though others have obviously had the same problem. I've followed the demo EXACTLY and do not see a link with which to comment on ANY articles. I've defined the article IDs on the backend and see nothing when when I go to those articles. Anyone should see the comment link since it is set for guests to comment.

I'm using Joomla 1.5.7 and !JoomlaComment 3.26.

I'm at a loss in terms of what to do next.

I noticed this error:

/var/www/vhosts/sitename.com/httpdocs/media is not writable

But after correcting it there is no change.

Also, when I go into "Manage Comments" > "New" I notice that I am unable to create a new content because the error rsponse is: "You must select a corresponding content item." But there is no opportunity to do so. The content item is shown as one of my articles and no chance to select a different one. It simply lists the one and yet does not recognize it as a content item.

You can not post a comment through backend.
Are you sure you have selected the right categories and sections for the comments under content settings?

I should see a link on the frontend to post a comment but its not there. On the back end I am defining what to comment on by using the content ID. For example: inputting 85,86,87 in the area for inputting ID numbers and telling it to include them. What more can I do? If I select a section or category the result is the same, no comment link. As stated before, I followed your demo example and it did not work.

I set up your account and used the support email address. Account details should be there.

Hi,

I have the same symptoms.
Could You please briefly explain, if possible, how it was fixed ?

Thanks in advance

Ignasi

Hey ignasi!
Most of the time the user didn't choose the right categories for the comments to appear. Please double check this in content settings. Also, please make sure that the plugin is published.

Hi,
I've got the same problem - tried both 3.26 and 4.0 with exactly the same issue.
No error messages at any point, but no trace of comment capability anywhere on front end.
The right category is chosen in the settings - obviously I've tried changing this, using both include and exclude - no effect.

The plugin is published, and I'm not prepared to give super admin access I'm afraid!
Sounds like a few people have had this problem, so could you please detail how it was fixed with those who didn't have the wrong categories selected?
Thanks.

KT, I'm sorry to say this, but the problem was always the categories that the user had selected.

Check this. Through ftp go to plugins->content if there you see joscomment, then everything is in place. So the problem have to be the categories.

Yesterday somebody wrote to me a PM mentioning something about the post overflow settings(in security) - make everything to -1 and check if it solves the problem.

Hm, a quick test would be to change to a standard joomla template and look if the extensions load.

Also please make sure that the joomlacomment is there. There was a bug in alpha2 that was saving empty edited template.

That is what comes on my mind right now.
