Not to hichack this topic, but I'm facing the same problem. I've spend all afternoon reading through this forum in hope for a solution. But found none so far. So I've registrered in hope for some help. B)

First, do I need to install any other component that handles the captcha-thing, or is it ready to go out-of-the-box after installing !joomlacomment?

I don't see any server problem, only an image that doesn't show.

I've checked that all files in the captcha-folder is chmod 644, and captcha.php is also chmod 644.

From my gallery I can see that both GD extention and FreeType Support is enabled.

I'm a bit unsure of where to focus right now...

Best regards

Thanks for a very swift reply! Great!

I might not have been all that clear.

The folders are chmod'ed 755.

captcha.php is chmod 644 and all files inside the captcha-folder is also set to chmod 644.

Cheers!

Peter

Is it working now?

If not, please look in the error log for more info.

It is still not working, because I don't know what to do....

Kind of confused here. One post says change to 644, the other says another, and it is driving me nuts....

I got it working now! :cheer:

We've talked about the "captcha" folder should be chmod'ed to 755.

However the parrent folders had other chmods.

After modifying the chmod on both "com_comment" and "joscomment" to 755 it seems to work just fine.

Chris, I hope you also find a solution!

Thanks for the help Daniel! :woohoo:

Cheers
