TOPIC: How do I remove 4.0? Uninstall doesn't work,

Can you please advice how I can remove version 4.0, as the uninstall doesn't work.

Remove the files in components, adminsitrator/components, delete the plugins.

And also delete the tables in the database.

Thank you - and jus to be sure the tables we are talking about are: xx_comment, xx_comment_capcha, xx_comment_voting,xx_comment_setting
and nothing else should be deleted?

yep, but always make a backup before deleting!

it worked, I just renamed the tables, to be able to get them back quick again. And the I still had to uninstall the plugin via the administrator interface, but then it also finally removed the version.
Now I am ready to install the latest stable version.

I had the same problem when i uninstall the component.

I ve made a little change in /administrator/components/com_comment/uninstall_comment.php, i changed line 28:

global $database;
by
$database =& JFactory::getDBO();
