I have version 3.26 with Joomla 1.0.15 with MySQL 5.0.27 and PHP 5.1.6 and every time I post a comment I get the following error message 'Character problem. empty comment'. I have turned off sh404SEF, I have turned off AJAX in !JoomlaComment, I have turned off all caching and the problem still persists.

Commenting is only available for registered users, so giving you a URL isn't going to help. Do I need to create a registered username/password for you for testing purposes?

The problem hasn't changed, as I stated in the previous post, commenting on the site is only available to registered users. If you want to be able to test the commenting, I need to create a registered username/password for you.

I have discovered the problem, it seems as if iJoomlacomment and Query cache just don't play nicely together. I have uninstalled the Query Cache component (too bad as it really speeds things up). I have received an email from the author of Query Cache that instructed me how to prevent that component from caching certain MySQL tables. I will try that to see if I can get the two to 'get along'.

It didn't matter which tables were cached, the very presence of the component QueryCache kept it from working. So I had to uninstall it all together. It's too bad as QueryCache is a very useful component that speeds up a site quite a bit, I have found two components will not work when QueryCache is installed, Fabrik and JoomlaComment.
