TOPIC: Thank you message after subm. new com. inst. of empty com. form

Hi.

I'm using a template that show the Comment form when visitor click "Add comment" link.

Would be great if possible from the backend to control that a "Thank you for your comment" message are to be displayed where the Comment form previously was displayed, after having successfully submitted a comment.

Then it is clear to the visitor that it got stored.
Now the visitor just get an empty form except my Name and email are filled out after submitting....
Allmost looks like nothing was submitted and there was an error or something.... kind of confusing for the visitor (IMHO).

Any chance to get support for this?
The thank you message, should be a field in the backed though.... so admin could control what the message is.

It is supposed that the user jumps to his message after submiting, but a bug in the javascript file sends the user to the form.

look under bugs. Voting jump, search form etc are all connected to your issue.

Hm, wait a moment. I just checked it and there is no problem as you describe it.

When the user enters his comment, then the url gets an anchor #josc29 - this points to the comment - so the user should immediately see his posted message. This isn't working for you?

I do see the inserted message....

But my issue was that I wanted to hide the comment form after a message was successfully submmitted and that instead of the comment form I now wanted to see a "Custom message" where the comment form previously was displayed.... Possibility to give the visitor a message like "Thank you for your message" or something similar....

As it is now, after submitting a new comment, the visitor is presented an empty (allmost) comment form (with username and email entered)....

I do not want the comment form to show after a comment has been successfully submitted.... just a custom message.

One more related thing:
Yes I see the inserted message after it has been submitted.
But I also have paged comments on my page. What happens is that the inserted message is displayed at the bottom of the current page.

It would me much more visual if the newly inserted message could be displayed before the other messages.....
and maybe in another border, or background.... so make it visually more clear to the visitor where the message actually is displayed.
Just my 5 cents.

Ah, I understand you know.
About the message - this is one of the candy things most of the users look those days (including myself) and we have to do it - kinda stay with the time and not 2006

The problem with the pagination and the new comment is more complex. It needs some code fixes. I'll try to fix/add all this in the next version.
When is the next version coming? - no idea, but donations always speed up the development

If I submit a form and hit send, I need confirmation that I was successful... no?

If I turn off pagination, will that fix it?
