Hello,
First I want to say that it seems the best comments system that I saw so far. BUT there is one small function that is missing and I think it will be very useful.

So here is exactly what I mean. I have a website that sometimes people use the comments to discuss a tennis matches. Something like a chat. And they complain that there is no refresh button.

What I mean - for example Person X open the article. He post a comment. Then he watch the match on the TV. And he decide to post another comment after 2 min. During that time he didnt close the page. But during that 2 min. Person Y post another comment. And when Person X post his comment he can`t see the comment of Person Y. He must refresh the page to update the new comments.

Solution - I don`t know. I hope you can find ;)
Temporal solution - add a small refresh button above the comments.

So far I know only one comment system that have that button but its too ugly. I like your component but people are complaying all the time about that little bug.

Please answer me If this is possible. If yes I`ll wait. If not I`ll search for another comment component. But I wish to use Joomlacomment , I really like it. Congrats again for the good work B)

I think it's a good idea. We could put a little Refresh button up the top, next to where 'Add', 'Search' and 'RSS' are on that top bar.

Not sure how to do it myself, I'll need to get help off Daniel for it but I like it. Also it'd be good to use AJAX to check for new comments every minute or so, and/or whenever the user switches back to the window/tab with Comments. Facebook does this very well with Notifications and Wall Posts, it seems almost realtime these days.

Added as a New Feature request on the repository here .

I`m glad that you like my idea :)
BTW if you add a refresh button next to 'Add', 'Search' and 'RSS' on that top bar, can you make an option to choose that only refresh button to be shown ? I mean I dont need the 'Add', 'Search' and 'RSS' buttons. ;)

Thanx B)

'Search' and 'RSS' can already be turned off in the backend ;)

As for removing 'Add'... well... you could just delete it from your custom template index.html if you really want that. I don't understand why you would want to though, it takes a long time to add new options in the backend so I think we'll leave that one there.

Nothing yet i'm afraid. The problem we have is that JoomlaComment is still in the JC3/Joomla1.0 migrate-to JC4/J!1.5/MVC codespec, we have very old code in there and we have to slowly update it to be faster and more compatible and more feature support, but to make sure it doesn't break original JC4 alpha version or JC3 upgrades.

For this one in particular, Daniel and I are both trying to brush up on our AJAX skills. This is what is needed for a 'Refresh' button that actually works properly (otherwise it'll just refresh the entire page or the entire component, which is pointless). And it's quite complicated to be honest!

But keep checking back for new version announcements, chances are we will have a Facebook-like auto-refresh (if the window/tab isn't active, but then the user switches back to it, it will check for new comments and squeeze them in there). And of course a manual refresh button up top like you said :)
