Is there a a way to put the number in front of the comment. Example comment 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc?

This is not possible right now.
It is a nice feature for a future version.

I recently did the code up for this in JavaScript (so it only works for one template) and have already started making it into the PHP core. We should see this new option in the next release, they will also be anchored/hyperlinked :)
