Hello!

Not sure if someone has picked this up already but i couldnt see it or if its available.
But have the ability to just close comments on one post and not the category and show a message/custom message.

I'm running a Sims fansite and i keep getting support comments when they need to go to EA Support - so i want to close comments on this post and have a message saying "Comments Closed: Please go to EA Support [linked] for Help"

Thanks :D

Hey there! I've added this option to beta1. It is due to be publicly available on monday the 6th of July.

About the custom message - no right now it is just a message saying the post is closed for further comments.

Is it not possible for an administrator or the author to "lock" the article from further comments, but still add a single comment afterwards (which only they were allowed to do) with their custom message?

No JonusC,
Before locking the thread you can post your admin comment and then lock it. This is the way it works right now.

I see. I had them the wrong way around :P

This is something I would like to try and implement, Daniel has enough to work on right now :P It will be easy to change the message via language file, but that'd be a global text for all locked articles. I personally would love to have an option to lock and display a custom message for that specific article, so we can link to a forum thread for further discussion :)

Hopefully in 4.1 ;)

Yup i know he is busy :D i'm not like forcing him to add it - but it'll be nice for a future release :)

I agree. This is the only feature I can personally think of that I think JoComment needs. The only problem is that JoComment4 is still based on the old Joomla 1.0 code to a degree; it needs a lot of work. As you can probably see on these forums, half of the fixes are hacks and some are completely random and unpredictable...

...but we'll get there :)
